Superpower Wiki

The power to manipulate numbers. Sub-power of Mathematical Object Manipulation and Mathematics Manipulation. Variation of Symbol Manipulation.

Also Called[]

  • Integer Control/Manipulation
  • Number Control
  • Numeral Control/Manipulation
  • Quantitative Figure Control/Manipulation

Capabilities[]

The user can create, shape and manipulate numbers, signature figures related to the science of mathematics. Numbers are a type of mathematical object that represent quantities. They come in a variety of forms: natural – numbers going in sequence as 0, 1, 2 and so on, integers – positive and negative natural numbers, rational – figures expressed as the ratio of two integers, like a fraction or a percentage, irrational – figures incapable of being expressed as simple fractions such as square roots (√2) and mathematical constants (e.g., π), real – numbers listed on a line, capable of being positive, negative or the value of zero. This is just a few of the types available. Regardless of the form, they serve the purposes of conceptually assigning value to measurements needing definition and facilitating calculation.

Users with this power can wield profound abilities. Aside from increasing or decreasing an amount (e.g., weight, distance), one could potentially control the overall value of numbers, changing their significance. Numerical direction can effectively allow one to command reality itself on a precise level.

Limitations[]

  • Literary Manipulation/Mathematics Negation
  • Control, discipline, and restraint are extremely important. Unconscious, emotion-influenced, impulsive, or reckless use of this power can be catastrophic.
  • Without the knowledge or proper skill, the intended use of such magic can create unpredictable or potentially dangerous results.
  • Effects may be temporary.
  • May only be able to use said power in particular power system.
  • May only be able to numbers for specific purpose (property alteration (size, distance, speed, etc.), numerical constructs, variable manipulation, etc.).
