Capabilities

The user doesn't require oxygen, enabling survival in airless environments indefinitely. This unique trait allows them to simulate powers such as Atmospheric Adaptation, Aquatic Breathing, and Vacuum Adaptation.

In some cases, the user simply does not have to breathe.

Variations

• Anaerobic Breathing - In an environment that lacks sufficient oxygen, the user is capable of respiration through other substances such as nitrate, fumarate, sulfate, or elemental sulfur.
• Air Independent Breathing - The user is able to draw breath from certain liquids or solids. While Aquatic Breathing allows users to extract oxygen from water, true oxygen independent breathing would still be based on Anaerobic Respiration.
• Breathing Independence - The user does not need to breath.

Limitations

• Despite being able to survive without oxygen, the user is still vulnerable to environments filled with air-borne hazards.
• Anaerobic respiration may bring complications through production of damaging chemicals depending on the type of anaerobic respiration.
• Users may be oxygen intolerant.
