Capabilities

Users, either innately or through training, is a master of wielding katanas/uchigatanas, Japanese swords characterized by curved, single-edged blades with circular or squared guards and long grips to accommodate two hands. The user's proficiency may also extend to similar Japanese swords such as the wakizashi, chokutō, tachi, ninjatō, guntō and ōdachi.

Users can take on multiple opponents at once, deflecting incoming physical attacks and countering with optimal skill and finesse. With their supreme proficiency in wielding katanas, they can not only wield multiple katanas (each being slightly different than another) but also perform graceful and phenomenal actions and feats, like cutting a bullet in half. With the user's superior knowledge on katanas, they would be able to possess an extremely deep understanding on them inside out, knowing when exactly to strike to optimize their full potential or how to prevent an attempt to break them in battle.

As katanas are Japanese swords, users would also be familiar or extremely proficient in a plethora of Japanese swordsmanship styles, such as iaijutsu, allowing them to switch up their fighting when facing different combat situations to make use of each style's strengths and weaknesses. More advanced users would be able to accomplish more superhuman feats, like slashing with so much force that it creates sharp wind and shockwaves, or project, delay or manipulate their slashes and slices with their katana. Advanced users would also be able to wield more esoteric and supernatural variants of katanas, like cursed, divine or magical versions that have been altered, or even channel their own supernatural abilities through their katana.
