"An empty vessel whose has been stolen away. A spirit that goes on, even as its body fades from existence. For you see... Nobodies don't really exist at all."
Yen Sid.

The power to control one's entire or partial nonexistence. Technique of Absolute Erasure.

  • Superficiality

Capabilities[]

The user can manipulate their state of being, shifting themselves out of conventional reality while maintaining self-awareness. This power lets the user erase their presence to varying degrees, affecting their physical form, memories of their existence, and even their conceptual identity.

  • Physical Nonexistence: The user’s body vanishes entirely from reality. They become invisible, intangible, and immune to any form of detection or harm through physical means. While memories and evidence of their existence—such as photos, belongings, or historical records—remain, the user effectively becomes a ghost, existing outside the world’s tangible structure. Their ability to interact with the environment may depend on their level of control, allowing selective manipulation of objects or people despite their intangible state.
  • Mental Nonexistence: It focuses on the mental presence, erasing all memories, thoughts, and records tied to the user’s identity while leaving their physical form intact. To others, the user becomes a stranger, unrecognizable, even the closest of friends or relatives would fail to recognize them, perceiving them as a stranger. Historical documents, digital archives, and mystical records lose all relevance as if they were never associated with the user in the first place, creating a profound sense of anonymity. This state isolates them socially and emotionally, as their presence holds no meaning to the world around them.
  • Complete Nonexistence: This transcends both physical and mental realms, representing the ultimate state of erasure. In this form, the user, for all intents and purposes, does not exist. They become utterly imperceptible, removed from all dimensions of reality, including physical space, memories, and even the conceptual framework of the universe. No entity, no matter how powerful or omniscient, can perceive them in this state. All evidence of their existence—memories, documents, and causal influence—ceases to be, and the timeline adjusts seamlessly to accommodate their absence. While in this state, the user exists in a paradoxical void, aware of themselves but disconnected from all external reality. They are unable to interact with the world in any meaningful way, as they are fundamentally absent from its fabric. Even higher-dimensional beings or conceptual entities are incapable of detecting or influencing them, as the user’s presence lies entirely outside the scope of existence. The Complete Nonexistence state is not a mere combination of physical and mental erasure—it is the erasure of all facets of their being, including their very potential to exist.
  • Selective Nonexistence: It offers the user precision, allowing specific people, objects, or systems to perceive them while they remain nonexistent to everything else. This nuanced control requires focus, as any lapse could leave unintended traces of their presence. With mastery, the user can adjust their level of nonexistence dynamically, toggling between imperceptibility and selective interaction.

Advanced control over this power grants the user the ability to anchor their consciousness entirely outside of reality, ensuring they are untouchable even to those capable of altering time, space, or existence itself. Upon returning from a state of nonexistence, they might also rewrite their identity in the world, altering memories and records to fit a new narrative.
