Basic

"It's been so long that you've been hit; I bet you've forgotten how much it hurts, Ace. But you understand now. You understood the second I grabbed you. Not only can my darkness pull you in, it can also absorb... your Devil Fruit power! In other words, as long as they're in contact with me, someone with Devil Fruit powers is no different than a normal human. Logia, Zoan, Paramecia; All those with Devil Fruit powers who have become dependent on them are in for a surprise! One little touch will remind them how weak they really are!"
― Marshall D. Teach/Blackbeard about his Yami Yami no Mi (One Piece)
"The power to cancel other abilities. At first I thought, it seemed a simple, hardly flashy ability, but among abilities, his was especially unorthodox, for this single ability used on its own could thwart the entire system of abilities... even the strongest ability user in the world would become no more than an ordinary person before Dazai."
― Doppo Kunikida on Osamu Dazai (Bungo Stray Dogs)

The supernatural power to negate superpowers. Sub-power of Superpower Manipulation. Variation of Negation. Not to be confused with Power Deactivation.

This can be in a form a nullification zone, a wave, continuous or one-time effect.

  • Usually limited on how long the user can keep the effects on or if the effects are temporary.
  • This power has no effect on the target's innate/natural abilities or ones not derived from powers.
  • Ineffective against those who do not utilize supernatural powers in combat or do not possess them.
  • Unlike Power Erasure, effects aren't permanent and only effective as long as the targets are within range.
  • Cannot work against Meta Power Immunity.
  • Cannot affect users of Negation Immunity and Power Anchoring.
  • May be constantly active or be spontaneous on.
  • May can only work within a specific space.
  • May be uncontrollable.
  • May have a limit on how often or how many times it can be used.
  • May have a cool-down interval between its activation and reactivation.
  • May be unable to affect multiple targets, if it can, it may not be able to choose selectively which ones are affected, potentially hindering allies.
  • May require conscious effort/focus to maintain/activate the effect.
  • May have a limited range, including touch only, and if it requires touch it might have to be maintaining contact with the target.
  • May only negate specific types of powers.
  • May be a one-shot effect, powers being negated only at the instant of nullification and work right after the effect passes.
  • May have a limit on how many powers it can negate.
  • May not work on those who could bypass this ability.
  • Effectiveness of negation can be dwindled against stronger target or individual that have resistances after being affected once or multiple times
  • It may not work or last a short time if the target is more powerful than the user.
