He's just a overglorifed shonen hero cliche for mecha fans, wouldn't say he is a big deal outside his established setting as a anime cliche in terms of effectiveness as a fictional examplar of charisma beyond the typical template of say Dragonball's Goku or even the guy he's inspired by Ryoma Nagare.

Captain America is way more charismatic than he is. So is SUperman and basically anyone who has more a sense of gray morality is stronger than Kamina in being more charismatic.
