Those who like feminine women will prefer the old Miss Marvel. Those who masculine women (looks like a woman, acts like a man) will prefer the current Captain Marvel. It's really just a matter of taste.
Kind of sad though how modern female characters basically have to mimicry men in order to be acknowledged as strong, rather than following their own path and creating their own definition of strenth.
It's admitedly a lot more harder and riskier to pull off though, so it makes sense writers would just go with the cultural flow rather than dare propose/promote a different model that society isn't ready for.
