The character is an alpha undead, a being vastly superior to other members of their group or society who leads through brute strength and force of personality. Their command of the undead may be limited to a particular type, or it may extend across multiple types of undead.
Unlike most undead, the undead alpha may possess unimaginable skill in fearsome dark magic and may command legions of the undead. Also, alpha undead are known to have increased resistance to magic aimed at returning the undead to rest and have the fewest weaknesses. Furthermore, depending on the user, they may have a demonic nature, thus granting them access to the most unholy of powers.
