"Unlike you dancing shadows, my past was real and cannot be re-written, as much as I wish it were."
― SCP-682 - Hard-To-Destroy Reptile (SCP Foundation)
"Caitlin Snow: What about the timeline?
Barry Allen/Flash: It’s risky, but I don’t know. I mean, Wally and I were talking about it.
Wally West/Kid Flash: Yeah the Legends have a theory. Uh, there are some historical events that are soft. Basically, you change those, it’s not going to affect much else, like catching Gridlock late. And then, there are those that are fixed. You mess with them and all sorts of craziness starts to happen.
Barry: Like the night my mom died. Changing that created "Flashpoint.""
― Team Flash (Arrowverse) discussing Fixed point

The power to be be immune to time manipulation inside timeline. Sub-power of Inevitable Event Creation. Inside counterpart of Temporal Lock.

Also called[]

  • Chronal Anchor
  • Constant (SCP Foundation)
  • Fixed Point State
  • Fixed Point in Time
  • Inevitable Event Mimicry
  • Long-Standing Impact Events
  • Temporal Constancy

Capabilities[]

The user is anchored in time, a living moment in the space-time continuum at which events were set in stone and could never, ever be changed, no matter what. As a consequence, the user is usually immortal through temporal revival. This also applies to the user's death, rendering it unable to be changed or removed from the timeline.

This power differences from the True Atemporality is that, while the user's is outside of time, becoming consequently immune to time entirely, while the Temporal Constancy is immune to temporal paradoxes and causal effects still inside a timeline, in addition of them being "linked" to their timelines.

Applications[]

Associations[]

Limitations[]

  • Fixed points in time can be used in both positive and negative ways, such as if a situation that would be unwanted is temporally anchored, there would be nearly no way to cancel it unless the user's can handle the situation.
  • Though the user can't be killed, they can still be trapped.
  • Depending on the circumstances one became a fixed point in time, Absolute Restoration may be able to undo the lock.
