The Silence alter peoples memory so that they don't remember them.

How does imperceptibility translate to memory alteration? Perception is immediate. It's right now. Not ten seconds, ten minutes, ten days ago. It's right now. Perception itself has very little to do with memory. Memory however, is used to recall things perceived. To remember

You can't see, smell, touch, taste, hear a memory. Memories aren't physical things. Memory, though, can be altered. And as such, the things we perceived in the past are different than what they really were.
