Once, I loved them. Actually, now, I still do love. Hatred? No. I am not aware of that concept. I still love humanity very much. It's just... Patience has limits, don't you agree? Even toward loved ones... We must never blind ourselves, don't you agree? That's why... I want to destroy them.

Archangel Samael is a fallen angel, and possibly the strongest "demon" in history, who has a resentful heart against humanity.

Appearance[]

Samael is a tall man with a well-toned physique. He has pale skin and messy, medium-length black hair, and deep red eyes. Behind him, majestic angel wings, once pure and radiant, now appear tainted, a darkened remnant of their former glory.

Samael is strangely very formal in his attire, mostly because he likes being refined. He dresses in a pristine white tuxedo. Draped over his shoulders is a flowing white cloak with a black fur coat.

Personality[]

Samael is serious and composed, rarely losing his cool unless provoked by something that strikes a nerve. This calm exterior belies a mind that is perpetually caught in the past, yearning for a time when things were simpler and more defined. He despises change, preferring that everything, whether it be reality, his relationships, or history, remains in an undefined status quo. This aversion to change makes him averse to chaos, a trait that is ironically fitting for a being who is often associated with destruction and disorder.

Despite his status as a demon, Samael is highly organized and methodical, finding solace in structure and order. This aspect of his personality often puts him at odds with his wife Agrat, whose chaotic tendencies are a constant source of irritation for him. However, Samael’s love for his wives is unwavering; he holds them in the highest regard and treats them with equal respect and admiration, despite any differences they may have.

Samael’s relationship with humanity is a tragic one. In the beginning, he loved humanity deeply, admiring their potential and even engaging with them personally. However, his trust was shattered when humanity, driven by baseless rumors and their own fears, turned against him. They labeled him as Lucifer, the fallen angel, a name that has since become synonymous with evil.

This betrayal by those he once loved so dearly transformed his love into something far darker—hatred. Now, he despises humanity with a passion that burns as intensely as his former love did. To him, humanity represents the epitome of disappointment and treachery, and he fully subscribes to Murphy’s Law, always expecting the worst from them.

While Samael is undoubtedly cruel, his cruelty is more a result of cynicism than true malice. He views the world and everything in it through a lens of bitterness and disappointment, having been deeply scarred by his fall from grace. His actions are driven by a desire to enforce his twisted sense of order on a world he views as inherently chaotic and flawed.

Powers and Abilities[]

  • Fallen Angel Physiology: As a fallen angel, Samael possesses a vast array of supernatural abilities that set him far above mortals and even most other demons. His very being is a blend of divine and infernal power, giving him unparalleled strength, speed, reflexes, and durability. His fallen status has corrupted his angelic nature, warping his once-pure abilities into something darker and more malevolent.
    • Superhuman Strength: Samael's strength far exceeds that of any human or lesser demon. He can easily shatter stone, rend steel, and crush his enemies with a single blow. His strength isn't just about raw power; it's also incredibly precise, allowing him to control the force he exerts down to the smallest detail. Whether he's lifting mountains or gently cradling his wives, Samael's strength is both awe-inspiring and terrifying. Without doubts, his physical strength is superior than any of his wives'.
    • Superhuman Speed: Samael moves with a speed that defies the limits of mortal perception. In the blink of an eye, he can cross vast distances, making him a blur to those who try to follow his movements. His speed is not just about how fast he can run or fly; it also extends to his ability to react and strike, making him a nearly unstoppable force in combat. Using his Abyssal Authority, he can warp through the void to surpass the limits of normal concepts of space and time to go beyond.
      • Superhuman Reflexes: Samael's reflexes are sharpened to a razor's edge, allowing him to react to threats instantaneously. Whether dodging attacks, countering blows, or catching projectiles mid-flight, he can respond to any situation with perfect timing.
    • Invulnerability: Samael's body is nearly impervious to harm. He can withstand extreme temperatures, immense physical trauma, and powerful magical attacks without so much as flinching. His invulnerability isn't just limited to physical damage; his mind and soul are also heavily fortified, making him resistant to mental assaults and spiritual manipulation. Only the most potent divine or infernal forces stand a chance of penetrating his defenses, and/or extremely specific abilities and methods.
    • Superhuman Stamina: He can continue fighting, moving, and exerting himself without tiring for extended periods. His stamina is practically limitless, allowing him to endure prolonged battles and extreme conditions without needing rest or sustenance.
    • Superhuman Agility: Despite his large and imposing frame, Samael is incredibly agile. He can maneuver with grace and precision, dodging attacks, leaping great distances, and contorting his body in ways that seem impossible for someone of his size.
    • Immortality: Samael's existence is eternal, transcending the limitations of time and space. He cannot die from age, disease, or conventional means of harm. Even if his physical form is destroyed, his essence would remain, capable of reforming or manifesting in other ways.
    • Angelic Force Manipulation: Samael wields the remnants of his once-divine power with terrifying efficiency. He can manipulate divine energy to heal, destroy, or reshape reality according to his will. This power allows him to unleash devastating energy blasts, create protective barriers, and even alter the very fabric of existence. While his fall from grace has darkened this ability, it remains one of his most potent tools, capable of challenging even the strongest of celestial beings.
      • Absolute Concealment: Samael possesses the ability to completely erase his presence from all forms of detection. This ability makes him invisible to the eyes, undetectable by any magical, technological, or supernatural means, and even imperceptible to divine entities. When he chooses, he can walk among mortals or demons without anyone sensing his presence.
      • Authority: His authority as the Prince of all Demons and of Rome, combined with his status as the Chief of Fallen Angels, grants him dominion over all demonic entities and the power to command legions of fallen angels. His word is law among his subjects, and his influence extends across realms. This authority allows him to bend others to his will, enforce his rule with an iron fist, and shape the destinies of those under his command.
      • Darkness Manipulation: Samael can control and manipulate pure darkness, an extension of his fallen nature. His ability, known as the Abyssal Void, allows him to summon and shape darkness in its most primordial form. He can engulf entire areas in impenetrable shadows, create weapons and constructs from pure darkness, and even use it to suffocate or overwhelm his enemies. The "Abyssal Void" is not just the absence of light but a tangible force that can consume and obliterate anything it touches.
        • Dark Matter Manipulation: Samael has the rare and potent ability to manipulate dark matter, the mysterious substance that makes up a large portion of the universe's mass. This power allows him to create, control, and weaponize dark matter. Samael can even manipulate the gravitational effects of dark matter, bending space and time around him to warp reality in terrifying ways.
        • Destruction Manipulation: Known as the Destroyer, Samael wields the power to manipulate the concept of destruction itself. He can cause objects, beings, and even abstract concepts to disintegrate into nothingness. This power is absolute and can be applied on both a small scale—like shattering a weapon or destroying a single soul—or on a massive scale, such as annihilating entire planes or erasing the existence of lesser or higher beings.
      • Telepathy: He possesses telepathic abilities, enabling him to read minds, communicate mentally, and influence thoughts. This power allows him to gain insight into his enemies' strategies, anticipate their moves, and exploit their fears and desires.
      • Extrasensory Perception: Samael's senses extend beyond the physical realm, granting him extrasensory perception. He can detect hidden presences, sense magical energies, and perceive events happening at great distances. This heightened awareness makes it nearly impossible to surprise or deceive him, providing her with a strategic advantage in any situation.
      • Death Manipulation: As the Angel of Death, he has mastery over the very concept of death. He can bring death to any living creature with a mere thought, control the souls of the deceased, and even manipulate the boundaries between life and death. He can also grant or revoke immortality, summon the spirits of the dead, and enforce the natural laws of mortality.
        • Poison Manipulation: Samael has the ability to create, control, and manipulate poison in all its forms. Whether it's a physical toxin, a corrosive venom, or a deadly plague, he can produce it with ease. He can imbue his weapons with lethal poisons, infect entire areas with toxic miasmas, and even weaponize diseases to strike down his enemies.
      • Shapeshifting: He can alter her form at will, assuming any appearance he desires. This ability allows him to blend in, disguise himself, or take on more formidable forms in battle. His shapeshifting is not limited to physical appearance; he can also alter her voice, scent, and aura to complete his transformations. Sometimes, he also appears in female form.
      • Electricity Manipulation: Samael can summon and control demonic lightning, a potent and destructive force of energy that combines the elemental fury of lightning with the malevolent power of Hell. This demonic lightning is far more powerful than ordinary lightning, capable of incinerating foes, shattering defenses, and unleashing catastrophic storms.

Abilities[]

  • Genius Intellect: Samael possesses an extraordinary level of intelligence that far surpasses that of any mortal or even most celestial beings. His genius intellect allows him to strategize with impeccable precision, analyze situations from multiple perspectives, and anticipate the moves of his enemies long before they act. He is a master tactician, capable of creating complex plans that account for countless variables, and his knowledge spans across various fields, including magic, warfare, science, and the arcane arts.
    • Seductive Magnetism: Samael is an unparalleled master of seduction, able to charm and captivate others with ease. His mere presence can draw others to him, and with a few words or gestures, he can sway even the most resistant hearts. He can also passively induce lust on others, subtly affecting those around him and amplifying their attraction to him. This power allows him to manipulate and control others, bending their wills to serve his purposes, often without them realizing they are being influenced.
    • Persuasion: Samael's powers of persuasion are nearly unmatched, enabling him to convince others to see things his way or to follow his commands with little resistance. He can sway opinions, alter beliefs, and inspire unwavering loyalty with his words alone. His persuasive abilities are so potent that they can even challenge the free will of others, subtly bending it to align with his own desires.
    • Psychological Mastery: Samael is a master of the mind, with deep understanding of psychology and the human (and non-human) psyche. He can read people with remarkable accuracy, discerning their fears, desires, and motivations with just a glance. This mastery allows him to manipulate emotions, plant seeds of doubt or fear, and control the mental states of those he interacts with. Samael can break down the mental defenses of even the strongest minds, driving them to madness or molding them into whatever he needs them to be.
  • Master Combatant: Despite his intellectual prowess and psychological skills, Samael is also a fearsome warrior. He is a master combatant with centuries of experience in battle, skilled in both armed and unarmed combat. His fighting style is a blend of brute strength, speed, and precision, allowing him to dominate opponents in close quarters or from a distance. Whether he’s facing a single opponent or an entire army, he fights with the same calm, calculated demeanor, rarely breaking a sweat as he dispatches his enemies.
    • Weapon Proficiency: Samael has honed his skills with a variety of weapons, but he is particularly proficient with a Zweihander, a large, double-handed sword. His proficiency with this weapon is unmatched, allowing him to wield it with incredible speed and accuracy despite its size.

Weaknesses[]

  • Because he was cut off from Heaven, this means that his powers (who are divine-originated) are always limited. So, he has to carefully administrate his powers in order to use them efficiently, and find new sources of powers (which his wives always attempt to find).

Weapons & Paraphernalia[]

  • Eclipsisdentem
    • Description: Eclipsisdentem (Eclipse's Fang) is a massive zweihander, standing nearly as tall as Samael himself. The blade is forged from a dark, otherworldly metal that seems to absorb light, giving it an ominous, shadowy aura. Its edges are razor-sharp, with intricate, ancient runes etched along the flat sides, glowing faintly with a crimson hue. The hilt is wrapped in black leather, providing a firm grip, while the crossguard is shaped like outstretched wings, symbolizing Samael's fallen angelic nature. The weapon has an almost sentient presence, resonating with Samael's own power and hatred.
    • Powers and Abilities: Absolute Slicing (a single swing of it can tear through the fabric of reality, creating temporary rifts that can either consume anything they touch or transport them to a different dimension), Soul Cutting and Soul Absorption (it has the power to sever the connection between a soul and its body, making it deadly even to immortal beings), Dark Energy Manipulation and Darkness Infusion (he can channel his darkness and destructive energies into the blade, amplifying its strength and imbuing it with an aura that weakens and corrupts anything it cuts. When wielded at full power, the zweihander can unleash a devastating wave of dark energy, capable of obliterating everything in its path).

Quotes[]

Tsk... Lucifer this, Lucifer that... why people think I'm that annoying idiot? We aren't the same person!

Love and hate are but two sides of the same coin. Both consume, both destroy. So here's a tip: you are allowed to love. But be careful. Otherwise you will end up destroying the world.

Agrat...! Dammit, don't call lovely names right in the middle of my monologue!! Hey, Eisheth! Naamah! Put some sense on her!!

Trivia[]

  • He is obviously based on the figure from Abrahamic Religions, Samael.
  • Samael doesn’t need to eat, but he enjoys the taste of rich, dark chocolate. It's one of the few indulgences he allows himself, often enjoying it in private.
  • His lair is a vast, dark fortress located in an unknown realm. It’s filled with ancient tomes, forbidden artifacts, and is eerily silent.
  • His mother can be considered Sefirot, the divine force that created all angels.
    • Thus, all angels, including Samael, are technically her children.
  • His choice of wearing white, despite his fall, is a symbolic gesture. It represents his belief that he is still true to his original purpose, even if others view him as fallen.
  • Samael’s dislike for chaos extends to every aspect of his existence. His personal chambers are meticulously organized, and he expects the same level of order from those who serve him.
  • The hatred over his title of "Lucifer" has a reason. Basically, Lucifer is a whole other being. Which Samael particularly finds annoying.
  • Despite his power and authority in Hell, Samael has little interest in ruling over others. His position is more a result of circumstance than desire, and he often leaves the day-to-day affairs of his domain to his trusted subordinates.
    • As such, Samael is de facto ruler of the In-Betweel Realm, not Ulrich. But, he dislikes ruling so he gives the position to the dark mage.
  • Samael firmly believes that anything that can go wrong, will go wrong. Yes, he believes on Murphy's Law... and has a certain conection to Karma.
  • He has a surprisingly refined taste in music, often enjoying classical compositions and dark, ambient soundscapes.
  • Samael has a hidden soft spot for animals, particularly ravens and wolves. He often watches over them from afar, seeing them as kindred spirits in a world of chaos and brutality.
  • He is an avid chess player, often engaging in games against himself or conjured opponents.
  • Samael has a deep disdain for chaos and disorder. He finds Agrat's chaotic tendencies particularly irritating, though he never lets this show openly.
    • He also despises bright, overly cheerful environments, preferring places with a somber or subdued atmosphere.
