To save my world, I had to become something more than human. Something more than a hero. A god... yes, that's what I became. Now, if it isn't something too much to ask... kneel.

Ryan Mariano, also known as Emperor Hyper, is an alternate version of Hyper from Earth-02. Unlike most divergents (alternate versions) of Ryan, who are heroic, this one can be considered a villain; reflection of the humanity's will to survive and the chosen one by the people.

Appearance[]

Ryan is tall with a muscular build. He has short and messy dark brown hair, complementing his intense green eyes that often carry a serious, calculating expression. He also has two black tattoo-like fang-shaped symbols below both of his eyes.

He wears a black bodysuit that clings to his muscular frame, made from advanced materials. Over this, he dons a black cloak with a cosmic design on its interior, with a blue trim that adds a regal touch. His black belt, lined with advanced technology, houses various gadgets and weapons.

Personality[]

This Ryan is a far cry from his heroic counterparts in the multiverse. Initially sharing many of the same qualities—courage, determination, and a deep sense of responsibility—this Ryan’s path diverged sharply after a catastrophic vision of his world's future. The overwhelming dread of impending threats turned him paranoid and eventually led him down a dark path. To prevent the destruction of Earth-02, Ryan absorbed a Cosmic Shard (weapon of wuiyan origin), an artifact of immense cosmic power, which transformed him into a god-like being. Connected to the essence of humanity, Ryan will reflect humanity in terms of personality (in other words, if they are evil, he will be too; if they are good, he will be too). He didn't became a god-like being of his own, humanity decided him to be like this.

As a ruler, Ryan is cold, calculating, and merciless, since the people themselves wanted him to be like that. He sees himself as the only one capable of protecting his world, even if it means ruling with an iron fist. His paranoia has stripped away much of his humanity, making him more of a cosmic force than a man. He is willing to commit atrocities, such as cutting Earth-02 off from the multiverse, to protect it from perceived threats. To Ryan, the ends always justify the means, and he has no qualms about eradicating anyone or anything that stands in his way (much like how humanity doesn't care about any other race in Earth beyond their own).

Despite his accidental tyrannical nature, remnants of his old self linger. Ryan still harbors a deep care for life, particularly when it comes to preserving his world from external threats. He despises senseless destruction, especially when it leads to the loss of innocent lives. This paradoxical nature makes him both a destroyer and a protector, driven by a twisted sense of duty and love for his world, showing that deep down, he is very aware that he is an hypocrite who is between either love or hate the human race.

There are moments when Ryan’s old traits resurface, particularly when dealing with beings from other dimensions. While he views himself as superior and detached, he occasionally aids others, including his heroic counterpart from Earth-01, when he believes it to be absolutely necessary. These rare acts of assistance show that, deep down, a part of Ryan still yearns for the values he once held dear, even if they are now buried under layers of cynicism and god-like power; since, in the end, he was tricked by his own ideals and was corrupted accidentally.

Powers and Abilities[]

  • Superhuman Physiology: Ryan’s body is fundamentally different from that of a regular human, enhanced on every level by cosmic energy. His bones, muscles, and tissues are far denser and stronger, granting him immense physical power and durability. His organs function at peak efficiency, processing oxygen, nutrients, and energy far beyond normal capacity. This physiology serves as the foundation for all his other abilities, making him a being of immense power capable of standing toe-to-toe with gods and other cosmic entities. However, considering how much warped his existence was by the Cosmic Shard, it's more safe to say he's a god now instead of a human/superhuman.
    • Superhuman Strength: Ryan possesses strength that surpasses the physical limits of even the mightiest beings. He is capable of engaging in fistfights with gods and angelic beings, matching their might blow for blow. His strength allows him to lift and crush massive objects, shatter mountains with a single punch, and create shockwaves that can level entire worlds. This power is a testament to the overwhelming force he commands. In comparison to his alternate counterparts, he comes in third in terms of raw strength (only below Voidslayer and E-01 Ryan himself, while above Riley and else)
    • Superhuman Speed: Ryan’s speed is on par with beings that transcend the normal boundaries of space-time, such as angels. He can move faster than the eye can see, cross vast distances in the blink of an eye, and even run circles around other speedsters. His speed extends to every aspect of his movement, including combat, where he can deliver strikes at lightning-fast speeds, making him nearly impossible to hit. However, he is slower than most of his notable counterparts.
      • Superhuman Reflexes: Ryan’s reflexes are incredibly heightened, allowing him to react to threats and changes in his environment at speeds far beyond human capabilities. He can dodge bullets, lasers, and even attacks from other superhuman beings with ease.
    • Invulnerability: His body is nearly impervious to harm. Conventional weapons, extreme temperatures, and most forms of energy have little to no effect on him. His skin, bones, and tissues are incredibly resistant to damage, making him virtually indestructible. Even attacks that manage to hurt him heal rapidly, making him a formidable opponent who can withstand and recover from almost any assault. When enhanced by the Cosmic Shard, he becomes immune to all known and unknown supernatural effects of the world. In comparison to his other counterparts, he comes in first in this attribute.
    • Superhuman Stamina: Ryan’s stamina is effectively limitless, allowing him to engage in intense physical activity without tiring. He can fight, run, or perform any strenuous activity for days, weeks, or even months without rest.
    • Superhuman Agility: Despite his size and strength, Ryan is incredibly agile. He can perform complex acrobatic maneuvers, dodge attacks with precision, and move with a fluid grace that belies his power.
    • Immortality: Ryan is effectively immortal, having transcended the normal limitations of life and death. He does not age, is immune to disease, and can survive in conditions that would be fatal to any other being. Even in the rare instance that he is mortally wounded, his regenerative powers ensure that he returns to life.
    • Original Powers: Ryan retains all his original powers, which are a suite of abilities that grant him unparalleled versatility and dominance. He can fly at incredible speeds, his enhanced senses allow him to perceive the world in ways unimaginable to ordinary beings, and his extrasensory perception lets him detect threats and opportunities across vast distances. His accelerated vision enables him to process visual information in a fraction of a second, while his regenerative healing factor ensures rapid recovery from injuries. Ryan can sustain himself without food, water, or air, manipulate his own particles, shapeshift, replicate himself, and even fuse with other beings. He can become intangible, invisible, transmute matter, create and manipulate matter at a quantum level, teleport, and control his own elasticity, size, and density. His energy manipulation and projection capabilities are vast, allowing him to harness and unleash immense power, while his mastery over chi manipulation, power bestowal, and power resistance makes him a true force to be reckoned with. Additionally, he possesses abilities to manipulate biology, DNA, blood, and even grant healing or resurrection, making him not only a destructive force but also a creator of life and reality itself.
      • Absorbing Replication: Ryan has honed this ability to a level beyond his original powers, specializing in the absorption and replication of anything he comes into contact with. This ability allows him to bond with any form of matter, energy, or even abstract concepts, assimilating their essence into his own being. As he absorbs these elements, they empower him, enhancing his strength, resilience, and capabilities. This process not only makes him stronger but also grants him access to new powers and abilities related to whatever he has absorbed.
        • Property Replication: With this power, Ryan can replicate the properties of any object, energy, or material he comes into contact with. Whether it’s the indestructibility of a particular metal, the heat of a star, or the properties of a mystical artifact, Ryan can incorporate these traits into his own being.
        • Self-Adaptation: Ryan possesses the ability to instantly adapt to any environment, threat, or situation. This power allows him to develop new abilities or resistances in response to the challenges he faces. For example, if exposed to an extreme environment, his body will automatically adjust to survive it. If confronted with an unknown energy type or a new form of attack, Ryan’s physiology will adapt, rendering the threat ineffective.

Cosmic Shard[]

  • Almighty Object: In his quest to protect his world from looming threats, Ryan discovered the Cosmic Shard, an artifact of wuiyan origin infused with higher-dimensional energies, and fused with it. This shard is a gem-like object that bestows upon its wielder nigh-omnipotent power, essentially elevating Ryan to god-like status. The Cosmic Shard grants him control over reality on a massive scale, allowing him to manipulate time, space, and energy with unparalleled precision. It enhances all his existing powers to unimaginable levels, making him capable of feats that would be impossible for any mortal or even most divine beings. With the Cosmic Shard, Ryan has the power to reshape his world and defend it against any threat, though at the cost of his humanity and any remaining ties to his past life. after fusing with it, Ryan became, essentially, a god.
    • Conceptual Manipulation: The Cosmic Shard grants Ryan the ability to manipulate concepts themselves, allowing him to alter, create, or erase fundamental ideas that define reality. This means he can change the very nature of existence, such as redefining what it means to live, die, or even exist. Through this power, Ryan can impose new rules on the universe, bending the laws of physics, logic, and even morality to his will.
    • Soul Manipulation: With the Cosmic Shard, Ryan gains the power to control souls, the very essence of living beings. He can manipulate, corrupt, or even destroy souls at will. This ability extends beyond mere life and death, allowing him to trap souls, alter their nature, or merge them into new entities. He can also extract and absorb the power of souls, using them to enhance his own abilities or fuel his reality-altering capabilities.
    • Higher-Dimensional Manipulation: The Cosmic Shard empowers Ryan with control over higher-dimensional spaces, allowing him to interact with, manipulate, and traverse dimensions beyond the standard three or four. He can create and destroy higher-dimensional realms, access hidden layers of reality, and bend the rules of these dimensions to his advantage. This ability also grants him a unique perspective on the multiverse, enabling him to perceive and manipulate events across various timelines and realities.
    • Corruption and Transhumanization: The Cosmic Shard, unlike other artifacts, is a malformed manifestation of wuiyan energy, making it a source of corruption rather than pure power. When Ryan absorbed its energy, he was transformed into something beyond human, losing much of his original nature and becoming a being of immense, yet twisted power. The shard’s influence corrupts not only individuals but entire worlds, turning them into nightmarish, corrupted versions of their former selves. This corruption leads to transhumanization, where those affected become monstrous or fundamentally "non-human". In Ryan’s case, it stripped away his humanity, leaving him a cold, god-like figure obsessed with maintaining control over his world at any cost.
      • Anti-World: By harnessing the energy of corrupted worlds he has destroyed, Ryan can create new multiversal structures. One of his most notable creations is the Counter-World, a semi-identical carbon copy of the original multiverse. This new structure contains duplicates of the souls and bodies of its original inhabitants, but twisted and altered by the corrupting influence of the Cosmic Shard. The Counter-World serves as a reflection of Ryan’s paranoia and need for control, existing as a backup reality that he can manipulate and rule without the constraints of the original multiverse.
    • Boundary Manipulation: The Cosmic Shard gives Ryan the ability to manipulate boundaries, both physical and metaphysical. He can control the limits of reality, defining or erasing the borders between different worlds, dimensions, or concepts. This allows him to merge or separate realities, create impenetrable barriers, or even redefine the edges of existence itself. It also grants him the power to isolate his world from the rest of the multiverse, making it nearly impossible for external threats to penetrate his domain.
    • Metaphysics Manipulation: Ryan, empowered by the Cosmic Shard, can control the underlying principles that govern existence. Metaphysics manipulation allows him to alter the foundational rules that dictate how reality functions, such as the nature of time, space, causality, and existence itself. He can rewrite the laws of reality, impose new metaphysical structures, or even dismantle the framework of existence.

Abilities[]

  • Genius Intellect: Ryan possesses a level of intelligence that far surpasses that of ordinary beings. His genius intellect enables him to solve complex problems, devise intricate strategies, and innovate advanced technologies that are beyond the comprehension of most. He has a deep understanding of multiple scientific disciplines, allowing him to manipulate technology, physics, and even biology to achieve his goals. His analytical mind also makes him a formidable tactician, able to anticipate and counter his enemies' moves with precision.
    • Leadership Mastery: As the founder and leader of the Hyper Corps, Ryan has honed exceptional leadership skills. He commands respect and loyalty from his followers, guiding them with a blend of charisma, authority, and fear. Ryan is a strategic leader who excels at organizing and directing large-scale operations, ensuring that every detail is accounted for and every objective is met.
    • Master Combatant: Ryan is an expert in various forms of combat, trained in multiple martial arts and battlefield tactics. His mastery extends to both armed and unarmed combat, allowing him to engage in close-quarters battles with precision and efficiency. Ryan’s combat skills are further enhanced by his superhuman abilities, making him a nearly unbeatable opponent in physical confrontations. His experience in countless battles has refined his fighting style, turning him into a lethal warrior capable of taking on even the most formidable foes.
      • Weapon Proficiency: Ryan is proficient with a wide range of weapons, particularly favoring bows and long-range armaments. His expertise with these weapons allows him to strike with deadly accuracy from a distance, taking down enemies before they even have a chance to retaliate. Ryan’s weapon proficiency isn’t limited to traditional arms; he is also skilled in the use of advanced, high-tech weaponry, which he often incorporates into his arsenal.

Weaknesses[]

  • Ryan’s sense of morality has been severely twisted by the Cosmic Shard, leading him to make decisions that often sacrifice his humanity and compassion.
  • Despite his genius and combat skills, Ryan has grown overly reliant on the god-like powers granted by the Cosmic Shard.
  • His transformation into a god-like being has led to a significant emotional detachment from others. This lack of empathy can hinder his ability to understand and anticipate the actions of more emotionally-driven opponents, making him susceptible to manipulation or underestimating the resolve of his enemies.

Weapons & Paraphernalia[]

  • Kraft Bow
    • Description: The Kraft Bow, a weapon of extraordinary enchantment, was forged in the same mystical dimension as its counterpart, the Kraft Sword, within the Forge of the Ten. Crafted from celestial materials unique to that otherworldly place, this enchanted bow possesses incredible abilities that are unlocked by its wielder. The bowstring is made of an indestructible cosmic fiber, and the arrows it conjures are composed of pure energy, capable of piercing through anything in existence, including transcending the boundaries of space and affecting non-physical entities. The bow's power is unmatched, with the potential to vanquish gods and cosmic beings. However, accessing this supreme power requires Ryan to achieve his rarefied supreme form, a transformation bound by rigorous restrictions. While its primary form is a bow, Ryan has demonstrated the ability to transform it into various other ranged weapons, adapting to the needs of any battle.
    • Powers & Abilities: Energy Projection (it has the ability to unleash powerful energy blasts), Supernatural Strike and Defense (allows the user to imbue their attacks with supernatural force and augment their defenses), Power Immunity and Force-Field Generation (shields the wielder from various external powers), Weapon Calling/Summoning (he can summon the bow into his hand at will), Space-Time Piercing (allows users to cut through anything, including the fabric of space-time itself), Sealing and Pocket Dimension Creation (when needed, Ryan is able to open a gate to a personal pocket dimension where he can seal/guard beings and things into it), Weapon Transmutation (empowers Ryan to transform the bow into different forms, including crossbows, slings, energy cannons, and many more), Size Manipulation (enables the alteration of the bow's size for versatile applications), Enchantment (a unique aspect that solely Ryan can unlock, tapping into the bow's mystical properties and maximizing its potential).

Quotes[]

I did not choose this path lightly. But when faced with annihilation, what choice did I have? Trust me, all these worlds I killed... I destroyed... was for the greater good. They would rather be destroyed than live on such conditions! Corrupted Worlds are a disgrace, akin to basically be stuck on the lowest hierarchy possible.

You call me a tyrant. I call myself a necessary evil. Madness...? Tsk, as if it something a god like me would have.

... I wish I had it. Humanity. Friends. Love... you all grew with it. Since ever, I always felt lonely. For some time, I thought it wasn't a big deal so I still tried to act like a hero. But was in vain. These visions... they changed me. I couldn't stand still with the possibility of having my world destroyed. To have the only thing that keeps me alive; protecting humans.

The Hypercube of Intense Wishes? Huh, I see. I heard about it. Let's say it's like the Cosmic Shard... without turning you into a cold monster without any humanity. Well, it won't unless you do it yourself. Which I pretty much think that guy is willing to do.

Perish, filthy scum.
