"Hero". What a funny little world, isn't it? What makes a hero a hero? Shouldn't it be about saving and helping people no matter the odds and circumstances? Then why some think it's exclusively about acting all lawful like as if we are superpowered cops? NO! WE ARE HEROES! We shouldn't be DOGS that should listen to whatever the government says!!

Ryan Mariano, also known as Hyper, is one of the two main protagonists of Cronikus (along with William). A calm guy who becomes very fierce during battles, but also a genuinely good person.

Appearance

Ryan is a young adult of a toned musculature and average stature, with a short-length and messy dark brown hair, white skin and green eyes. He is usually seen wearing a red jacket with a black shirt underneath, dark gray jeans, red and black athletic shoes, and when Ryan is not in public (i.e, at home) he wears a 3-pointed technological crown that floats over the head nearly all the times.

His hero outfit consists of a full-length costume made of "carmandino" (a material of his own making that is incredibly flexible and resistant to lots of things) in black color (with dark gray details), a large red cape with dark red details, and the part of the legs is black to resemble boots, and red-color in the hands to resemble gloves. The clothing contains some special technological items and accessories of his own invention.

Personality 

Ryan can be considered someone constantly angry, even when not looking like it. Normally, he pretends to be a self-confident yet selectively engaged individual, often presenting himself as a quiet and calm presence in any situation. To the casual observer, he appears unfazed, as if he possesses an inner peace that keeps him from losing his cool. His keen awareness of his surroundings enables him to quickly identify annoyances or bothersome behaviors, often serving as an unofficial critic of the world around him. This composed demeanor allows him to interact with others while maintaining a certain distance.

Ryan's temper, when unleashed, is formidable; he approaches anger with an intensity that is both surprising and captivating. Rather than resorting to violence, he channels his emotions into focused determination, pursuing solutions with a strategic mindset until the source of his frustration is resolved. While he may seem kind and casual to strangers, he exhibits a peculiar indifference toward his close friends, often critiquing, "insulting" and playfully challenging them in a well-meaning manner. However, his temper is still notable, and Ryan considers himself as someone "always stressed and angry at something", even while pretending to be laid-back (basically, currently, Ryan feels stressed by how many problems either him or his friends have to take care of, so he is incredibly pissed off internally at almost all times).

One of Ryan's most admirable traits is his visionary thinking, characterized by an innate ability to foresee future possibilities and outcomes. He possesses a strong internal vision for what he wants to achieve, coupled with a clear plan for how to reach those goals. His strategic planning enables him to approach problems with purpose and direction, often visualizing the end result as he sees challenges.

Ryan's creativity is purposeful and goal-oriented; his inventions serve a specific function, solving problems or contributing to his long-term vision. He embraces rigorous experimentation, driven by a need for knowledge that leads to concrete results (often for his own amusement than any actual serious purpose). His imaginative nature is methodical, showcasing a desire for mastery rather than whimsical exploration. For instance, his extraordinary creations, like the FlyingJet Spaceship, exemplify his ability to think outside the box with a clear focus on functionality.

In social situations, Ryan exudes confidence and assertiveness, using his insights to influence others. While he prefers solitude at times, he tries to seek collaboration with trusted allies, especially when their input aligns with his vision. In anything else, however, he prefers to live the problems to be solved by the others, as he says "it probably doesn't have anything to do with me". He desires efficiency and is critical of systems or processes that hinder progress, constantly looking for ways to improve (as long it benefits him).

During battles, Ryan transforms into a more engaged version of himself, relishing the thrill of combat and eagerly demonstrating his skills, particularly in swordsmanship, against worthy opponents. In these moments, he finds joy in the struggle and excitement of competition, a stark contrast to his otherwise composed demeanor in daily life.

Powers and Abilities

• Superhuman Physiology: Ryan possesses a remarkable natural-born superhuman physiology, endowing him with an extraordinary array of physical powers and shapeshifting abilities. His innate capabilities are nothing short of spectacular, showcasing an unmistakable and supernatural superiority that eclipses the potential of many beings. It's worth noting that Ryan intentionally imposed limitations upon himself even before birth, unintentionally curbing some of his latent powers. As a result, he didn't attain full omnipotence, but he still ranks as an incredibly potent entity by superhuman standards.
  • Superhuman Strength: Ryan possesses an immeasurable and godly level of physical strength, far surpassing natural human limits. His might transcends conventional standards, allowing him to achieve feats that defy imagination. In his own words, he could effortlessly obliterate an entire planet if he so desired. Furthermore, Ryan's strength enables him to engage in battles against the mightiest beings from various realms, overpower countless superpowered individuals, dismantle the most resilient metals, distort and mold space-time through sheer force to create portals (and consequently enabling him to travel through worlds), generate powerful shockwaves, unleash intense air pressure with mere strength, and even single-handedly halt natural disasters such as tsunamis and volcanic eruptions.
  • Superhuman Speed: Ryan is able to reach speeds far beyond what is natural, generally being ranked as one of the fastest beings out there. He can reach levels trillions of times faster-than-light, as well as transcending even those thresholds. Ryan's mind and senses process information at such speeds that time seems to have slowed down, allowing him to sense what would normally be moving too fast to see and respond accordingly. He is also the 2nd fastest TGZ and one of the fastest being on the universe, due to being able to reach one point to another in the universe in minutes and, in some cases, seconds; being able to move and react at speeds much more faster than light, and also having a technique capable of moving at speeds faster than 1 attosecond (1×10⁻¹⁸ of a second), allowing him to basically stop time with sheer speed and overpower anyone else but the fastest speedsters in existence. At his Enhanced Mode, the time becomes even shorter, going down to Planck Time and so on (something that eventually he was able to do casually).
    • Superhuman Reflexes: Ryan's reaction speed far exceeds that of ordinary humans, driven beyond natural limits by his extraordinary abilities. He reacts at a pace that matches or surpasses his own rapid movements, allowing him to respond to attacks traveling at the speed of light or even greater velocities.
  • Invulnerability: Ryan's body tissues, skin, muscles, bones, etc, are extremely dense, allowing him to withstand forces that are harmful to the body, such as crushing weights, impacts, pressures, changes in temperature, etc. In addition, he has a dramatically improved level of endurance due to the durability of the body, allowing him to resist tearing muscles and/or breaking bones. Ryan is immune to any/all forms of physical damage regardless of type, level and state, unable to feel physical pain, immune to bleeding or limb loss. He also has a great resistance to nearly anything and everything, such as powers that are psychic, magical, elemental, supernatural, etc. He also tends to switch between either be invulnerable or rely on his regeneration, because it makes things "more fun to deal with".
    • Soul Anchoring: Ryan's profound control over his chi translates into an immunity to all soul-based powers, rendering his soul, spirit, aura, and life-force entirely impervious to manipulation. Initially lacking resistance to such abilities, he embarked on spiritual training after a near-fatal encounter with Fate Master, ultimately achieving this formidable capability.
    • Psychic Immunity: Ryan's immunity to soul-based powers extends to psychic forces, making him impervious to psychic manipulation and related abilities. He gradually developed this immunity through years of training, initially possessing only resistance to psychic powers before ascending to full immunity through rigorous spiritual development.
  • Superhuman Stamina: Ryan's stamina transcends ordinary human limits, rendering him immeasurably more enduring than the average person. A testament to his remarkable stamina is an incident where he found himself trapped within an extra-dimensional space for over two entire weeks. During this period, he engaged in various activities and endeavors without displaying even a hint of fatigue upon his return.
  • Superhuman Agility: Ryan possesses agility that defies natural boundaries, exhibiting levels of flexibility, balance, and movement efficiency far superior to those attainable by regular humans, even with extensive training. This extraordinary agility bestows upon him rapid response times to his opponents' actions and an uncanny success rate in physical combat, making him a formidable combatant capable of navigating the most challenging situations with grace.
  • Superhuman Senses: His senses are supernaturally heightened, surpassing the capabilities of ordinary humans and superhumans alike. He can grow additional appendages or body parts, remove them, or reshape bodies at visible, chemical, cellular, or subcellular levels. He gained the capacity to absorb various materials and replicate their properties within himself. These properties can be stored and utilized later, potentially in combination with other properties. This ability serves as a highly effective defense, as attacks against Ryan not only fail to harm him but also strengthen him and expand his capabilities. It proves invaluable for breaking restraints, as he can either merge through them or absorb his way to freedom. He can also mold his body's form and properties to suit the situation, shape-shift tools and weapons based on absorbed data, and even merge assimilated properties to create new and more powerful ones.

For instance, he can ignite his blood to generate fire or lower the temperature of his breath to create ice. However, this does not equate to complete power replication; rather, it grants him certain abilities based on the replicated properties.
      • Self-Adaptation: With this power, Ryan can adapt to virtually any challenge he encounters, commanding his body to adapt via sheer will. This adaptability can respond reactively to immediate threats, enabling Ryan to acquire specific abilities necessary for survival or quickly configure his body's properties and attributes to match the situation. Ryan's adaptability knows no limits, and the extent and speed of his adaptations remain unrestricted.

Berserker Form

• Berserker Form: In his Berserker Form, Ryan transforms into a formidable entity enveloped in dark esoteric energy, granting him an array of potent abilities that allow him to manipulate fundamental aspects of reality. This form enhances his physical prowess and emotional intensity, creating a fierce presence that can induce fear and awe in adversaries. With each attack, Ryan taps into the depths of his powers, harnessing chaos and destruction while maintaining a strategic mindset. This form has three "stages", that is, levels of sanity/power. The higher his insanity is, more power he will have.
  • Darkness Manipulation, Void Manipulation, Antimatter Manipulation, and Erasure: In his Berserker Form, Ryan's body becomes enveloped in a dark, esoteric energy with mysterious origins, enhancing his powers immensely. He can manipulate darkness and the void, allowing him to summon and control shadowy forces. His mastery extends to antimatter manipulation, granting him the ability to interact with antimatter on a cosmic scale. With a mere thought, Ryan can erase beings from existence through direct attacks imbued with this dark energy or passively through his aura, which possesses the terrifying capacity to obliterate entities simply by being in proximity.
  • Reality Warping, Gravity Manipulation, Space-Time Manipulation, Fire Manipulation, and Heat Manipulation: While in his Berserker state, Ryan's aura gains a lethal edge, allowing him to generate intense fire and heat that can rupture the very fabric of space-time. This unique ability distorts reality around him, leaving gravity in a state of constant flux. His power has been recognized by his female counterpart, Riley, who asserts that Ryan's "Berserker Fire" surpasses even the legendary flames of Ember the Phoenix, making it one of the most formidable forms of fire manipulation.
  • Perception Manipulation and Adaptive Form: In his Berserker Form, Ryan gains the ability to manipulate the perception of those around him, manifesting their worst fears to weaker beings.   • Limited Time Manipulation/Personal Time: Ryan possesses the capability to control time itself over himself (perception), allowing him to transcend the usual constraints of temporal flow. In his Berserker Form, he can manipulate time around him, accelerating or decelerating it as needed, granting him a tactical advantage in battle.
  • Enhanced Self-Adaptation and Regeneration: Ryan exhibits remarkable self-adaptation and regeneration capabilities during his Berserker Form. This extraordinary regeneration enables him to recover from even the most catastrophic injuries, including the conceptual erasure of his existence and soul by Fate Master. By analyzing the properties of the spell used against him, Ryan can adapt and overcome such devastating attacks.

  • Tactical Analysis: As the "vice-captain" of the TGZ and their tactical leader, Ryan's strategic planning abilities are highly esteemed. His plans not only prove dependable but also surpass the strategies devised by William, the team's leader. Ryan possesses a keen analytical mind that allows him to swiftly assess situations and formulate effective strategies to outmaneuver his adversaries.
  • Master Combatant: Among the members of TGZ, Ryan distinguishes himself as the most proficient combatant. His powers primarily rely on his own physical abilities rather than environmental manipulation, rendering him a formidable force in hand-to-hand combat. He boasts expertise in an extensive array of martial arts, thanks to his training with Asami. Ryan's combat prowess enables him to adapt his fighting style to different opponents and situations, making him a versatile and deadly combatant. Ryan developed a custom combat stance that looks completely nonsensical to outsiders. However, it gives him an unpredictable advantage in battle.
    • Weapon Proficiency: In addition to his mastery of martial arts, Ryan is highly skilled in the use of various weapons. He has undergone rigorous training with the samurai Itta, which honed his exceptional swordsmanship. Despite his unparalleled skill with swords, Ryan is equally adept with other types of weaponry, showcasing his versatility as a combatant.
• Indomitable Will: Ryan's willpower is unmatched, a cornerstone of his ability to persevere in the face of overwhelming adversity. He possesses an inner fortitude that enables him to resist mental, emotional, or physical fatigue. Weaknesses

• Ryan's only real weakness is his temper and emotions, which can be exaggerated and be a threat to anyone around him.
• He cannot use his powers for 10 entire minutes if hit with a banana in the face (why he has this weakness is unknown, but he has a theory that it was put on him by William while asleep). When that occurs, he falls into unconsciousness and becomes temporary as vulnerable as a normal human.

I... don't know if I can keep up. I mean, I know that people always *need* someone to be there for them, but... is someone there for me? Since we... I started being a hero, I thought that everyone would need me and only me to do anything. I couldn't imagine that in just a few years, no, months, and there'd be a lot of more heroes out there. So there's my point: does someone really needs me at this point? Does someone thinks "I hope Hyper will be there"? I guess not...

I don't consider myself as someone like, extremely intelligent, you know? But, creative? That's what I am and for sure! I really like seeing my ideas being put in practice! Because, who else could build an interdimensional travelling ship?

At the beginning, I wanted to be a hero thinking on money and fame. However, as the time passed, I realized that this world has much more fucked up things than what I thought it would have. I know how to be truly a hero today and what I can do to help people around. I just... slip my morals off, sometimes.

I don't like fighting because I enjoy the thrill of the battle or anything. Yes, I surely do enjoy the feeling, but this isn't the main reason. The reason of why I became so obsessed with fighting strong opponents... it's because it fills the void that it is inside me. This void? My goals and ambitions. I don't have a goal. I do not seek to have or be anything. But, since I'm strong, and I constantly become even more powerful again and again, it's inevitable that this kind of thought would be in my mind and then... command me.

I don't know if my life can be considered either good or bad. I had passed through lots of fucked up things? Yes, I was. But, at the same time, I discovered so many wonders. I have become stronger. So it's more like a "no pain, no gain" situation.

• While he is indeed based before myself (much like other TGZs), the character Ryan can be described as a more exaggerated and unstable version of myself (as he is built to be like how I would be if I had superpowers and all).
  • So, he is not completely based on myself, but mostly on my views of a hypothetical and (mostly) idealized version of myself.
• Even though he’s a great hero by himself, Ryan gets annoyed when people compare him to other famous superheroes. His usual response is, "Yeah, but can they do this?" followed by a ridiculous display of power.
• Ryan has built an AI version of himself—just to argue with. The AI, named HyperBot, is programmed with Ryan’s personality and knowledge. Sometimes, Ryan debates himself just to see if he can outsmart... himself.
• His durability is so extreme that he once survived inside a black hole just because he wanted to see what would happen. He described it as "kinda boring" and left after five minutes.
• He has a soft spot for classic childhood toys like spinning tops, yo-yos, and action figures. He even has a small collection hidden in his room.
• His own favorite superpower is Shapeshifting. He likes a lot to shapeshift. And also, the first time he saw that he could shapeshift (2 years old), the first thing he turned into was a little dog.
  • Also, the first power he ever used was Flight. He temporary levitated in the bed of the maternity hospital, right after being born.
  • It's also possible that he used Shapeshifting to turn into various different things while in his mother's womb (but he don't actually remembers if this really happened).
• Even though he loves eating junk food, the one thing he enjoys making himself is homemade ice cream. He considers it a "science experiment with tasty results".
• He once shapeshifted into a chair just to mess with people. He stayed like that for hours, waiting for someone to sit on him, just to reveal himself at the most dramatic moment. So yeah, he's kind of a pervert, but a minor one.
• Ryan's body naturally radiates a slight warmth due to his energy levels. In cold weather, people unknowingly gravitate toward him for warmth. So, in a way, he's literally hot.
• He has accidentally created new superpowers just by experimenting on himself. His ability to control his own biology at a quantum level means that he sometimes stumbles into completely new abilities just from messing around with his own DNA.
• Sometimes, when he is very bored, he turns into some different people and things and pretends to be them. If not, he uses his powers to mess up with people.
  • When that isn't enough, he uses his FlyingJet Spaceship and go visit other places in our cosmos, sometimes even other universes.
• His favorite food is actually any junk food, mainly pizza, hot-dog, ice cream, milk-shake, french fries, soda, burger, and others.
• He hates overused jokes.
• His rivalry with William is so great, that sometimes it looks like they are arch-enemies.
• His personal playlist is absolute chaos. It ranges from orchestral battle themes to heavy metal, classic rock, lo-fi beats, and even random meme songs. The transition from an intense war anthem to an absurd internet joke song is completely normal for him.
• Despite not being a genius, he has lots of different inventions, with varying uses.
  • He has several high-tech armors, one of the main being the TK-12. He created them purely for aesthetics, since doesn't have any actual useful utility.
  • Ryan has/invented several shapeshifting-related weapons and devices. But, he almost never uses any of them, since it's redundant.
• Ryan tends to be randomly teleported (sometimes) to an alternate dimension called The White, a dimension which, in lenght, is infinite (despite from outside being seemly limited) and is totally white.
• Even though the Kraft Sword is his main weapon, Ryan collects other unique swords from different dimensions—but rarely fights with them because he finds them "too normal".
• He can “hear” technology. Thanks to his enhanced perception and connection with tech, he can pick up on faint electronic signals, Wi-Fi networks, and even encrypted transmissions just by focusing on them. It’s like a form of hyper-advanced "technological echolocation". Sometimes, he jokes he may be a robot and he doesn't know.
• He has a pet, is a ginger cat named Mary.
  • She can normally communicate like humans (and is the only beings in all the universe that Ryan would never hit, together with Any and certain people of his value).
• His combat abilities and techniques are all copied/references from/to other fictional works.
• Ryan's profile is the one with most information, details and the longest, since it's my in-universe and self-insert representation and I'm always working on him (directly and indirectly).
• He has an unintentional signature scent. Due to the combination of his personal energy field, his cosmic travels, and his frequent use of chi, he always smells slightly like ozone and something metallic—almost like the air before a thunderstorm.
• Despite being not the type of guy that is a maniac for battles, if someone could severely hurt him in a fight, he will temporary become insane and maniac with combat (although after this short time of insanity, he always regrets of acting like that).
  • He jokingly calls that mental state as "Combat Mode", since he becomes a really sadistic person.
• His Star Punch series' variations are named from actual stars (such as Rigel and Alpha Centauri).
• Despite his carefree attitude, one of his greatest personal fears is that, in the vast multiverse, he’ll eventually be forgotten. This thought occasionally keeps him awake at night.
• Ryan occasionally creates "training clones" of himself and forgets about them. There have been times when he left one of his clones training somewhere, only to remember months later that it's still there.
• During sometime, Ryan was temporarily The Authority Notebook's user. But, he quickly got bored with such limitless power and doesn't use it anymore.
  • He used it just to correct some things in existence and also make him slightly stronger in base-form.
  • After the first use, he write some additional rules to the notebook and kept itself in it's dimension, waiting for it summon another use (which would end up being Stripe).
• All of his powers are my personal favorite ones (obviously, considering who he is).
• To make a more notable change while in his hero identity, Ryan makes himself more musculous, mature and defined as Hyper (to induce grandiosity to opponents and make people respect him more as a hero).
• When he's not inventing, gaming or fighting, Ryan is at the nearest shopping mall eating junk food.
• Since when he adopted Naty, he tries his best to be a great father figure to her; and, sometimes, he even searches things in the internet on how to be a good father.
• Due to his overwhelming energy, when he fell into an exceptionally deep sleep, he unknowingly generated an entire miniature dimension around himself.
  • It took him hours to escape after waking up, and to this day that pocket dimension still exists.
