Humanity became attached to a fiction genre that became real and we all know it. I understand that feeling, I was like that as well. But, the problem is that they think it is absolutely important to them. They cannot live without that. I'm worried that people will depend their lives on people who have the power to destroy the world, rather than taking care by themselves or trust the right people. Why they cannot think about it for a moment?

Richard Kyle, also known as Hyperman, is a vigilante who is known to be a rejected member of the World Security League, and having a hate towards the concept of heroes and villains.

Appearance[]

Richard is a relatively tall man for an adult human, with white skin, spiky strawberry blond hair, blue eyes, a small beard, and a fit, yet very defined, physique. His common clothes consists on a regular white t-shirt, black jeans, and black shoes.

His vigilante uniform (which was intentionally supposed to be a hero's one) consists of a tight-fitting dark gray bodysuit with certain details and a large light gray cape.

Personality[]

Richard was once a humble, determined, and deeply inspired individual. However, his dreams of becoming a professional superhero were shattered when he faced rejection. This devastating setback fueled a profound sense of resentment, causing him to harbor anger towards the very concept of superheroes and supervillains, echoing the sentiment expressed above. Richard's transformation into a curmudgeonly, grumpy, and serious individual led him to adopt an illegal persona as a "super-vigilante," roaming the world and vehemently repelling anyone who dares to stand in his way. In this state, he exhibits a diminished capacity for empathy compared to his former self.

Beneath his hardened exterior, Richard still harbors a deep desire to be a true hero and a force for good. However, the wounds of rejection inflicted by those in positions of power have consumed him entirely, propelling him to become an adversary of the very notion of heroes and villains. He views individuals who subscribe to such ideologies as possessing twisted and misguided minds. Despite his cynicism, Richard remains fiercely protective of his wife and children, their well-being serving as a beacon of light in his increasingly jaded existence.

His perspective on the members of the WSL is rather ambiguous. Although he recognizes that they bear no responsibility for his personal misfortunes (aside from Techman, who inadvertently granted him powers), Richard opposes them due to his newfound ideologies. Moreover, he occasionally engages in confrontations with them, using these clashes as an opportunity to exact revenge against his former superiors. While Rick derives a minimal sense of satisfaction from overpowering his adversaries, he restrains himself from delivering lethal blows, showcasing a flicker of restraint and a lingering semblance of his former morality.

Biography[]

Richard had led a relatively ordinary life as a middle-class young man residing in the suburbs of Baltimore. However, everything changed when he embarked on a journey of self-discovery in Europe at the age of 19. Engaged in an exchange program in Austria after securing a scholarship through a important competition, Richard sought part-time employment to support himself. Over the years, he held various jobs until he stumbled upon news of a groundbreaking initiative by the United Nations known as Project League, aimed at establishing what would eventually be recognized as the esteemed World Security League.

While Richard acknowledged his lack of extraordinary abilities, he seized the opportunity to join the project, albeit in a different capacity. Driven by the allure of a generous salary, he decided to become an employee at the World Security Headquarters, envisioning a role that would primarily involve mundane tasks. Sweeping, cleaning, resolving technical issues (when Techman's expertise was not required), and fulfilling other custodial responsibilities became Richard's routine as he diligently worked within the hallowed halls of the WSL. Amidst his professional endeavors, Richard also built a fulfilling personal life, marrying and settling down in a neighboring city near Vienna, where he and his spouse welcomed two children into their loving home.

However, fate had something unexpected in store for Richard. On an unassuming day during his cleaning duties, he unwittingly stumbled upon a mysterious artifact tucked away in one of the laboratories. Cognizant of the caution surrounding such items, Richard hesitated to make any contact but inadvertently caused the artifact to topple, resulting in a peculiar liquid splashing onto his person. Hastily restoring the artifact to its rightful place, Richard continued his work, blissfully unaware of the transformative effects of the spilled substance until he encountered an electrifying shock while repairing the headquarters' command center. In that moment, Richard's latent powers surged to life, endowing him with enhanced strength, speed, and durability. It was only after accidentally obliterating the kitchen's refrigerator that Richard began to comprehend the extent of his newfound abilities, which even included the astounding power of flight.

Overwhelmed by the revelation of his accidental empowerment, Richard's astonishment soon turned into an ardent desire to become a member of the World Security League. Fueling his fervor, he sought an audience with his superiors, who, as both his bosses and the overseers of the WSL members, held the authority to admit new recruits. However, Richard's hopes were mercilessly dashed when they dismissed his aspirations, asserting that his perceived lack of skill rendered him unfit for the esteemed team. Moreover, they emphasized that the league was restricted to a select group of 10 members and would not entertain any additional recruits. Driven by anger and disillusionment, Richard misconstrued their words, interpreting their rejection as a direct insult to his abilities. Unbeknownst to him, they had offered him the opportunity to join the ISHL, the secondary team within the organization, which would grant him the chance to act as a legal hero and potentially serve as a temporary member of the main team. Blinded by his burning desire to be part of the World Security League, Richard declined their alternative, already having fashioned a suit to complement his newfound powers.

Devastated and fueled by a growing sense of rebellion, Richard made the difficult decision to sever ties with the organization and embark on a solitary path as a vigilante. Unbeknownst to the World Security League, Richard's actions were driven not by villainous intent but by a deep-seated frustration stemming from their rejection. Unjustly labeled as an adversary without knowledge of his underlying motivations, Richard's immense power posed a formidable threat to the very organization he yearned to join, rivaling the likes of Captain Molecular and Ms. Celeste in terms of raw strength.

Powers and Abilities[]

  • Superhuman Physiology: Richard's entire being was forever altered when a minuscule quantity of nano-organic tech, created by the brilliant Techman, inadvertently entered his system. The infusion of this serum bestowed upon him extraordinary supernatural powers and abilities. As a consequence, Richard experienced an astounding physical transformation, with his attributes skyrocketing to unprecedented levels.
    • Superhuman Strength: Richard possesses an awe-inspiring level of physical strength that surpasses the capabilities of ordinary mortals. As a recurrent nemesis of the World Security League, he can effortlessly contend with even the mightiest members, including formidable heroes such as Captain Molecular, Starbooster, and Ms. Celeste. His sheer might enables him to effortlessly demolish mountains and entire structures, casually manipulating and relocating them. At the pinnacle of his power, he stands capable of obliterating entire planets and stars, rivaling cosmic beings in strength. Remarkably, Richard can replicate the astonishing feats achieved by each member of the WSL, be it Chris' dimensional bending or Tom's capacity to annihilate asteroids.
    • Superhuman Speed: Richard possesses remarkable velocity, enabling him to react with lightning-quick precision to attacks launched by adversaries. Moreover, his extraordinary swiftness allows him to traverse vast distances at speeds exceeding that of light itself. Though he may not outpace the likes of Gabi, Chris, and Miguel, he effortlessly surpasses the majority of his counterparts within the team.
      • Superhuman Reflexes: His supernatural reflexes grant him an advantage over ordinary beings, empowering him to respond with uncanny speed and precision.
    • Invulnerability: Richard's bodily tissues, encompassing his skin, muscles, and bones, possess an extraordinary level of durability. This remarkable fortitude enables him to withstand immense forces, including crushing weights, impacts, and extreme temperature fluctuations. Moreover, he boasts unparalleled resistance to radiation and diseases, rendering him impervious to their harmful effects. His astounding resilience ensures his ability to thrive even in the vacuum of space, free from concern or vulnerability when navigating extraterrestrial environments. It is this exceptional durability that grants him the ability to withstand attacks launched by immensely powerful superheroes such as Horizon and other formidable members of the WSL.
      • Self-Sustenance: His enhanced physiology has rendered him virtually self-sufficient. He no longer requires sustenance in the form of nourishment, eliminating the need to eat, drink, or even sleep. Furthermore, he can exist unaided in the void of space and the harshest of environments, liberated from the constraints of his mortal counterparts.
    • Superhuman Agility: His agility is on par with his strength and speed. He can perform acrobatic feats like backflips, mid-air spins, and precision landings with ease.
    • Superhuman Stamina: Richard's enhanced musculature operates with unparalleled efficiency, eradicating the production of fatigue toxins that plague ordinary individuals. As a result, he possesses prodigious stamina, allowing him to exert himself tirelessly without succumbing to exhaustion.
    • Enhanced Senses: Richard's senses have undergone a remarkable augmentation, enabling him to perceive, smell, hear, and feel with heightened acuity. He possesses an extraordinary auditory range, capable of detecting sounds emanating from across the planet. Additionally, his vision extends to remarkable distances, enabling him to visualize objects and events transpiring thousands of miles away with unparalleled clarity.
    • Flight: Richard has the ability to levitate and fly through the air at tremendous speeds, through the control and manipulation of anti-gravitons. And as already said, he can fly across cosmic distances without any worries.
    • Law Manipulation (Personal): Unlike conventional superpowers, Richard's primary capability doesn't reside in Mimicry but rather in the ability to impose self-imposed laws that shape the very fabric of his existence. This power allows Richard to create, modify, and repeal laws within the confines of his being, each law serving as a metaphysical directive governing specific aspects of reality. However, Law Manipulation extends far beyond mere mimicry, presenting a versatile toolset with diverse effects.
      • Constantly Active Laws:
        • Law of Narrative Defiance (Limited Plot Manipulation): Situations that would normally play out like a classic hero-vs-villain story tend to go awry around him. If someone monologues, they might accidentally bite their tongue. If a hero tries to deliver a dramatic speech, they might get interrupted by a mundane event (e.g., a car alarm going off). Richard despises the hero/villain dichotomy, so his very existence rebels against traditional storytelling logic, since he hates clichés..
        • Law of Unshakable Perspective (Indomitable Will/Self-Mind Control, and Mind Anchoring): Richard can impose laws that enhance his mental focus and concentration, enabling him to resist mental attacks and maintain unwavering determination in the midst of chaos. He is completely immune to mind control, gaslighting, emotional manipulation, or any attempt to rewrite his memories. Even if reality itself changes (e.g., time travel alters the past), his memories remain intact. His ideology is built on rejecting authority, so no one—not even reality itself—can forcibly change his viewpoint.
        • Law of Inevitable Return (Teleportation Negation): If he’s teleported away, trapped in an alternate dimension, or erased from existence, he will eventually reappear exactly where he was before—as if the attempt never happened. He refuses to be "written out" of any scenario, especially by those who think they can simply remove him.
        • Law of Fate Defiance (Reality Anchoring and Destiny Negation): By establishing laws that fortify his resistance to reality-warping effects, Richard becomes less susceptible to alterations in the fabric of reality initiated by external forces. Prophecies, divine predictions, and precognitive visions regarding Richard will always be incorrect or incomplete. If someone sees a vision of him losing, that outcome is now impossible. He refuses to let anyone decide his fate—even time itself.
      • Situational Laws:
        • Law of Meaningful Effort (Greater Immunity): If an action is "lazy" or "effortless," it fails when used against him. Instant-kill attacks do nothing to him. Anyone trying to beat him without putting in effort (e.g., snapping fingers to erase him, using an autopilot AI to fight) will find their abilities completely ineffective. Even gods and cosmic beings must exert genuine effort if they want to harm him. He despises the idea of power without effort. If someone wants to take him down, they better work for it.
        • Law of Self-Substitution (Heroic Luck): If Richard acknowledges that he should have been in another’s place, he takes their spot. If someone else is about to take an attack that he believes should have hit him, he automatically takes the hit instead. If someone is about to get captured, and Richard believes it should have been him, then he gets taken instead. If an enemy tries to erase his family, they will find that Richard was erased instead. Deep down, he still sees himself as someone who should be a hero—just not in the way the world expects.
        • Law of the Reckoning Fist (Absolute Punch): If Richard throws a punch with true conviction, it cannot be dodged, blocked, or reduced in impact. If he lands a punch fueled by his genuine emotions (rage, sorrow, justice), it will always connect, no matter how fast, intangible, or powerful the opponent is. His law forces the target to acknowledge and accept the consequences of their actions. It’s not just physical—it’s moral and metaphysical.
        • Law of Weight of Intent (Aura and Gravity Generation): The more serious Richard is, the heavier his presence becomes—literally and metaphorically. In battle, if he is fully committed, his presence creates immense gravity, making it harder for enemies to move. People around him feel an almost instinctual pressure, as if something bigger than them is watching. Even those who don’t believe in him will subconsciously acknowledge his existence. His presence is a rejection of being ignored, both physically and metaphorically.
        • Law of Unyielding Grudge (Hatred Empowerment and Power Immunity): The more someone opposes Richard personally, the less their powers work against him. If an enemy genuinely hates Richard or wants to erase him from existence, their powers start to malfunction in his presence. If someone actively works against him for too long, their abilities begin to weaken. This also works in reverse—if someone forgives Richard, their powers function normally again. His vendetta is so strong that it actively disrupts the powers of those who try to destroy him.
        • Law of the Hollowed Name (Empathy and Power Negation): If someone speaks Richard’s full name with true hatred, their own existence is momentarily disrupted. If a god, hero, or villain invokes his name with malice, they briefly feel what it’s like to be Richard—his pain, his rejection, his rage. For a few seconds, they become a "non-person," invisible and ignored, unable to affect reality until the effect fades. His name carries meaning, and those who use it against him must experience a fraction of his suffering.

Abilities[]

  • Master Combatant: Richard's journey towards mastering combat arts began with a relentless pursuit of excellence to prove himself worthy of joining the World Security League. Through a self-imposed and rigorous training regimen, he honed his physical prowess, blending various martial arts disciplines into a unique style known as "Adaptive Combat Synthesis" (ADS). ADS represents an amalgamation of diverse martial arts techniques seamlessly integrated into a singular, fluid form. Richard's training involved studying an array of martial disciplines, extracting the essence of each and adapting them to create a combat style that synchronizes perfectly with his superhuman attributes. Here's a breakdown of key elements within Adaptive Combat Synthesis:
    • Boxing Mastery: Rooted in the fundamentals of boxing, Richard's combat style incorporates precise and powerful punches. The boxing foundation emphasizes quick footwork, evasive maneuvers, and devastating blows, allowing him to capitalize on his superhuman strength and reflexes.
    • Wrestling Mastery: Borrowing from wrestling, Richard integrates grappling and ground-fighting techniques. His mastery of wrestling provides him with the ability to immobilize opponents, counter their movements, and leverage his exceptional strength in close-quarters combat.
    • Karate Mastery: Elements of karate contribute to Richard's striking proficiency. Utilizing disciplined stances and powerful strikes, he can deliver devastating blows with precision and speed. This aspect enhances the impact of his attacks, making them both versatile and formidable.
    • Muay Thai Mastery: To complement his close-range combat, Richard incorporates the Muay Thai clinch. This allows him to control the flow of battle, execute powerful knee and elbow strikes, and seamlessly transition between striking and grappling.
    • Kung Fu Mastery: Elements of Kung Fu contribute to Richard's flexibility and adaptability in combat. Fluid movements, swift kicks, and defensive maneuvers derived from Kung Fu styles provide him with a diverse range of options during engagements.
    • Eskrima Mastery: Beyond unarmed combat, Richard has also trained in Eskrima, a Filipino martial art focused on weapon-based fighting. This proficiency allows him to wield improvised weapons or disarm opponents effectively.
    • Mixed Martial Arts Mastery: Adaptive Combat Synthesis places a strong emphasis on strategic thinking derived from mixed martial arts. Richard's ability to seamlessly transition between different disciplines grants him a strategic advantage, enabling him to exploit opponents' weaknesses.
    • Hybrid Adaptation: The hallmark of Adaptive Combat Synthesis lies in its adaptability. Richard possesses the innate ability to analyze and incorporate elements from new martial arts styles rapidly. This hybrid adaptation ensures that his combat style evolves dynamically, making him a formidable and unpredictable opponent.
  • Great Intellect: Contrary to initial assumptions, Richard has consistently demonstrated an exceptional capacity to comprehend and analyze complex concepts. Furthermore, he possesses a prodigious intellect, developing strategies and plans that confound his adversaries, leaving them unable to anticipate his next move.

Weaknesses[]

  • If Richard ever enforces a law that goes against his core ideology, it automatically fails or backfires.
  • If someone genuinely acknowledges him as an equal or friend, some of his abilities weaken. If a former enemy truly understands or forgives him, his powers have less influence over them.
  • Because he defies fate, he also has no destined victories—he must fight for every win. No matter how powerful he gets, he never has plot armor or "guaranteed success".

Quotes[]

What's the right? And what's the wrong? Good and evil? What's justice? The old white and black morality, of course... there's no such thing in this world. So why this is different now that there are superpowers? Yes, there are good and bad people, but not everyone is only on one side or another.

NO! I don't like to beat you guys because of villainous bullshit! But because of the dickheads that founded the very team you guys participate in! This is my personal revenge against them!

DON'T EVEN DARE USE MY FAMILY AS AN ARGUMENT TO JOIN YOU!! I desire for personal revenge? Yes! I do. But I'll not let that feeling take care of me and make me do impulsive things! Revenge can turn against yourself if you are not careful enough!
