You think you can stop me? I’ve had millennia to perfect my craft. You’re just another meal waiting to happen, kid. You can't surprise me, no matter what. By the way, heh, you look tasty.

Lycaon Lykoudis, also known as King Lycaon (of Arcadia), is a supernatural greek king that was cursed by Zeus into becoming a feral immortal beast after tricking him into eat human flesh.

Appearance[]

Lycaon, in his human form, is an imposing figure with a tall, muscular build. His skin is pale, with a faint feral gleam in his pink eyes. His short, messy black hair is streaked with hints of pink. His sharp wolf ears peek through his hair, and a black, bushy tail sways behind him, making his monstrous origins clear even in his human guise. He also sports a thin, barely noticeable goatee.

He dresses with a rugged, rebellious flair, often seen wearing a black leather jacket trimmed with fur, left open to reveal his bare chest beneath. His black pants are tight, with a belt slung casually around his waist, and he completes the look with well-worn black boots. In his transformed state, Lycaon becomes a towering black-furred beast with burning pink eyes, jagged claws, and hulking muscles. In his hybrid form, he stands hunched, a grotesque mixture of man and wolf with sharp fangs and sinewy limbs.

Personality[]

Lycaon is the extremely grumpy, wrathful and cruel. Having been cursed by Zeus himself, he harbors an eternal grudge against the gods, particularly the king of the Olympians, whom he blames for his current monstrous state. Despite the fact that Lycaon’s fate was a direct result of his own vile actions, he refuses to accept responsibility, preferring to live in a perpetual state of hate and vengeance. Thousands of years as a cursed being have not softened him; if anything, they have made him more twisted and depraved.

In his mortal life as the tyrannical ruler of Arcadia, Lycaon was a sadistic and arrogant king. He took pleasure in his subjects' suffering, often tormenting or killing for amusement. His disregard for life extended to his own family, as evidenced by his ultimate crime—serving his son as a meal to Zeus. This cruelty was not just confined to his ruling days. Even now, Lycaon revels in bloodshed, frequently hunting and devouring those he perceives as "lesser" than him. He sees himself as a predator, and the world, especially humanity, as his prey.

Beneath his rage, however, Lycaon hides a deeper emptiness. Cursed to live for eternity, he has grown weary of his endless existence, but this boredom only fuels his violent tendencies. He kills, not just out of necessity or hunger, but out of sheer spite for the world and everything in it. He is a nihilist who has concluded that no one is truly innocent, allowing him to exploit the loophole in Zeus' curse to continue his murderous ways.

While Lycaon is a vile and irredeemable being, he carries himself with the air of a broken king. He is perpetually grumpy, cynical, and untrusting. He mocks the notion of morality and scoffs at the idea of redemption. Lycaon has no interest in others' opinions of him, and any attempt to confront or correct his ways is met with indifference or outright violence. Deep down, he knows he is beyond salvation, and rather than struggle with this reality, he embraces it fully.

Powers and Abilities[]

  • Werewolf Physiology: Lycaon’s curse transformed him into a powerful werewolf with traits that far exceed those of any mortal being. His physiology is a blend of supernatural strength, speed, and predatory instinct. Even in his human form, he retains certain wolf-like traits such as heightened senses and reflexes, along with a monstrous durability that allows him to shrug off most attacks. When he shifts into his beast or hybrid forms, his abilities are greatly amplified, making him a nearly unstoppable predator.
    • Superhuman Strength: Lycaon possesses immense strength, far beyond what any human or most supernatural beings can muster. Even in his human form, he is capable of overpowering the elite agents of DEMON such as Gabriel, Morgan, and Astrid in raw physical strength. In beast form, his strength increases exponentially, allowing him to crush bones and rip through enemies with his claws. One of his most impressive feats was nearly killing Alithia, a powerful succubus, with his bare hands, tearing through her defenses and bringing her to the brink of death before she managed to escape.
    • Superhuman Speed: Despite his size and bulk, Lycaon is incredibly fast. In his human form, he can outspeed some of the most formidable fighters, including Nam-Hur, even while the latter was holding back. His reflexes allow him to move in a blur, and his speed is even more terrifying in his beast form. In this state, he is capable of dodging Alithia's charm-based attacks and even grabbing her by the legs mid-flight before she could unleash her full power, demonstrating his ability to react to opponents much faster than himself.
      • Superhuman Reflexes: Lycaon's reflexes are fine-tuned to the point where he can react instantly to threats and attacks from any direction. His predatory instincts, combined with his wolf physiology, allow him to anticipate and counter enemy movements with deadly precision.
    • Invulnerability: Lycaon's cursed form grants him a high degree of invulnerability. Conventional weapons and most forms of physical or magical attacks simply bounce off him or cause minimal damage. His body can absorb blows that would cripple or kill most beings, allowing him to charge into battle without fear. Only the most powerful or godly attacks have the potential to truly harm him, though even then, his regenerative powers allow him to quickly recover from most injuries.
    • Superhuman Stamina: His stamina is seemingly limitless, allowing him to fight, hunt, and endure extreme physical exertion for extended periods without tiring. He can engage in intense battles or long pursuits without showing any signs of fatigue.
    • Superhuman Agility: His agility far surpasses that of any human, and even in his human form, he can perform acrobatic feats and complex maneuvers with ease. His ability to dodge attacks, leap great distances, and swiftly navigate across terrain is unmatched. In his beast form, he becomes even more agile, capable of covering large distances with powerful bounds and scaling obstacles with ease.
    • Enhanced Senses: As a werewolf, Lycaon’s senses are heightened to extreme levels. His sense of smell is incredibly acute, allowing him to track prey over vast distances or detect subtle changes in the environment. His vision is similarly enhanced, with the ability to see clearly in both low-light conditions and detect even the slightest movements. His hearing is sharp enough to pick up on the faintest of sounds, from distant footsteps to whispered conversations, making it nearly impossible to surprise or ambush him.
    • Immortality/Regenerative Healing Factor: Lycaon’s curse grants him practical immortality, making him immune to aging and most forms of death. His regenerative healing factor allows him to recover from almost any injury in a matter of moments. Wounds that would be fatal to most beings, such as deep cuts, broken bones, or even lost limbs, regenerate quickly, ensuring that Lycaon remains in the fight.
    • Natural Weaponry: Lycaon’s claws and fangs are his primary weapons, and they are far more deadly than those of a typical werewolf. His claws are razor-sharp, capable of slicing through steel, stone, or even magical defenses with ease. His fangs, particularly in his beast and hybrid forms, are designed for maximum damage, able to tear through flesh, bone, and armor with terrifying efficiency.
      • Air Manipulation/Slash Projection: Lycaon possesses a unique ability to manipulate air with devastating force through his claws. With a swipe of his hand, he can unleash compressed air projectiles sharp enough to cut through solid objects like swords. These air blades can travel great distances, enabling him to attack from afar with lethal precision. The force and sharpness of these projectiles make them particularly dangerous, as they can slice through trees, boulders, walls, and even supernatural things.
      • Supernatural Bite: Lycaon’s bite is one of his deadliest and most feared abilities. His jaws possess immense crushing power, capable of biting through metal, stone, and even the supernatural defenses of other beings. A single bite can crush the skulls of vampires, demons, or other werewolves with ease. His bite isn’t just physically devastating—it’s infused with dark energy that can weaken and kill even the most resilient foes. It is often his finishing move, used when he wants to utterly destroy or curse his prey.
        • Curse Inducement: Lycaon’s curse is highly infectious, and through his bites or bodily fluids, he can spread his werewolf affliction to others. Those who are cursed by him experience a transformation into werewolves themselves, though they are typically far weaker than himself. The curse is not just a physical one—it carries the same violent hunger and bloodlust that drives Lycaon, forcing the cursed individuals to battle with their inner beast. While many succumb to the curse and become mindless creatures, those with strong wills can maintain some control, though they are still doomed to a life of monstrous existence.
    • Energy Absorption: Lycaon has the ability to passively absorb energy from supernatural and demonic forces in his vicinity. This ability enhances his strength, durability, and other physical attributes, giving him an advantage when surrounded by other powerful beings. However, it has its limits—while he can absorb energy to increase his power, it doesn't grant him additional abilities beyond what he already possesses.
    • Anger/Lunar Empowerment: Lycaon’s power is closely tied to his emotions and the phases of the moon. When enraged, his physical abilities—strength, speed, and durability—are significantly amplified, turning him into an even more fearsome adversary. His ferocity in battle becomes uncontrollable, and the more anger he builds, the stronger and faster he becomes. Additionally, during full moons, his connection to the curse is heightened, further enhancing his abilities.
      • Self-Muscle Manipulation: One of Lycaon’s more unique abilities is his mastery over his own body. He can control his muscles with incredible precision, adjusting their density, strength, and flexibility on command. He can also increase his speed by reducing the mass of his muscles, giving him the advantage of controlling his own physiology based on the situation.

Abilities[]

  • Combat Pragmatism: Lycaon cares little for the rules of combat or any notions of honor. His approach is ruthlessly pragmatic—he seizes every opportunity to kill or incapacitate his opponent without hesitation. If an enemy shows a moment of weakness, Lycaon will exploit it without a second thought. He doesn’t wait for his foes to "power up" or recover, and he often strikes in the middle of their transformations or spells. His primary goal in any battle is to eliminate the threat as swiftly and brutally as possible, which makes him highly dangerous in combat situations where others might hesitate.
    • Brawling Mastery: Despite lacking formal combat training, Lycaon is a brutal and effective brawler. He relies on his overwhelming strength and endurance to dominate his opponents, using crude yet devastating techniques in close-quarters combat. His fighting style is raw and unrefined, consisting of savage punches, grabs, and bites rather than practiced martial arts moves. Lycaon’s ability to use his brute force to overwhelm most enemies means he doesn't need finesse—his attacks are designed to inflict maximum damage as quickly as possible.
    • Killing Mastery: Lycaon is an expert at killing, and he shows no hesitation or remorse when ending the lives of others. His knowledge of anatomy, combined with centuries of experience, allows him to deliver lethal blows with precision. Whether he’s ripping apart his enemies with his claws, crushing their bones, or using his air manipulation from a distance, Lycaon’s focus is always on ending the fight quickly and efficiently. His long history as a cursed predator has turned him into a cold, calculated killer who relishes in the hunt and final blow.

Weaknesses[]

  • Like many werewolves, Lycaon is extremely vulnerable to silver. Weapons made of or infused with silver can bypass his natural invulnerability, causing him great pain and preventing his regenerative healing factor from working effectively.
  • Lycaon cannot harm beings deemed truly "innocent", as per the curse inflicted on him by Zeus. This restraint frustrates him and can be exploited by enemies who use innocence as a shield, rendering him incapable of direct harm. While he has found ways around this limitation, it remains a significant constraint on his actions.

Quotes[]

Innocence? What a ridiculous notion. Everyone is guilty of something. Ever heard about the expression "inner demons"? Everyone has that.

The gods' justice is a joke. I simply play by their rules, and their rules are easily broken. That fucking bastard old man... tsk, if there's someone who can kill gods, I would gladly watch them go into carnage.

Cry all you want. It only makes the meat taste better... hahahahahaha!!

What the fuck? Someone who is like me? Hmph, she's probably just a descendant. Not that I care. I will kill her, probably.

When I kill, I have no preference. But when it's to eat? Oh, hehehehe... Let's say I prefer a good meat from women and children.

Trivia[]

  • He is obviously based on the mythological king of the same name and did various similar cruel stuff.
  • He has a twisted sense of humor, often making grim jokes about his own curse, his victims, or the gods. His humor is dry and dark, often making others uncomfortable, but he doesn’t seem to care about that.
  • His favorite pastime is hunting. Whether it’s in his beast form or human form, Lycaon finds solace in the thrill of the chase, and the moment of the kill brings him fleeting joy.
  • Lycaon, disturbingly, has a preference for human flesh, though he particularly enjoys preying on women and children. And he prefers to eat them raw.
    • He relishes the thrill of the hunt and enjoys devouring his prey freshly killed.
  • He prefers nighttime, as his powers and primal instincts are heightened under the moon, especially during a full moon when his strength is at its peak.
  • Though he relies mostly on his claws and fangs, Lycaon enjoys the weight and feel of crude, heavy weapons like maces and clubs when in human form, even though he rarely uses them.
  • He enjoys the wilderness and desolate areas where he can roam freely as a beast. Forests, mountains, and ruins are his preferred hunting grounds, where there are fewer human-made structures and more places to hide or ambush.
  • Lycaon harbors deep hatred for Zeus and most other gods, especially those who serve divine justice.
    • He despises any form of divine intervention and often lashes out against those blessed by the gods and/or god-like beings (including demons, yes).
  • Unsurprisingly, Lycaon detests silver in any form. The mere sight of it causes discomfort, and direct contact with silver burns his flesh, making it his most hated substance.
  • Despite his strength, Lycaon has an intense inferiority complex and reacts violently to anyone questioning his power or calling him weak. This stems from his loss of power and pride after being cursed by Zeus.
  • Lycaon finds modern society distasteful. He dislikes cities, technology, and modern weapons, as they feel alien to his primal nature.
  • He keeps trophies from his hunts, typically in the form of bones or personal items from his victims.
    • He sometimes keeps these in caves or ruins where he resides temporarily, though he quickly grows bored and abandons them.
  • He has learned to control his transformation between human, hybrid, and full beast forms, but extreme emotional stress or anger can force him to shift involuntarily. He generally prefers his human form for day-to-day activities but shifts into his hybrid or wolf form when hunting or in battle.
  • Lycaon never bothered to learn how to cook, and despite his long life, he finds the entire process unnecessary. He sees no point in preparing meals when raw flesh is perfectly fine for him.
  • He despises any reminders of his royal past and has not worn a crown since the day he was cursed.
    • However, he will mockingly place a crown on the heads of his slain enemies from time to time, as a cruel joke.
  • He sees no value in wealth, currency, or material goods. His years as a king made him disgusted by riches, and now, as a cursed beast, he cares only for sustenance and survival. He’ll often take something he wants rather than bothering with trade or negotiation.
  • Due to his age, Lycaon can fluently speak ancient Greek, Latin, and several long-dead languages.
    • However, he often refuses to speak modern languages unless absolutely necessary.
