Thomas Ferrari Braga, also known as Starbooster, is a superhero and the brazilian member of the World Security League, and a great hero, symbol of idealism and heroism. He is also the "Determination" of the league.

Appearance

Tom is a young adult man of average stature and weight, having a chin-length wavy and slightly curly brown hair, brown eyes and a tan skin. His built is very defined, being worthy of an athlete's one (despite not being completely buff or all).

His superhero costume consists of a green suit with a yellow star symbol in the chest (with a yellow star in the center), yellow belt, yellow boots w/ blue outlines and a great blue cape that is under two blue shoulder pads. His outfit doesn't have any gloves, symbolizing his desire to bring heroism with his hands alone.

Personality

Tom is defined by his honesty, kindness, determination, selflessness, calmness, fairness, and unwavering moral compass. A natural-born hero, he embodies the ideals of a true protector, with powers that complement his noble spirit. His refusal to take a life, no matter the circumstance, sets him apart—he believes in the potential for understanding, even in those who seem irredeemable. Patient and level-headed, he rarely loses his temper, reserving intensity only for moments of absolute necessity; however, he is shown to not tolerate hypocrisy.

What distinguishes Tom isn’t just his strength or abilities, but his meticulous care for others. He weighs every action with precision, prioritizing civilian safety, minimizing collateral damage, and ensuring battles unfold as harmlessly as possible. Though a skilled combatant with razor-sharp reflexes, he sees fighting as a last resort—a grim duty rather than a calling.

Rather than positioning himself as a symbol of hope, Tom strives to be a catalyst for determination. He doesn’t want people to depend on him; instead, he saves them so they can find the strength to face their own struggles. Biography

Before getting his superpowers, Tom lived a simple life with his parents in the suburbs. His world turned upside down when his older brother, Vinicius, got involved in a crime and was tragically killed by gun violence. This event deeply traumatized Tom and fueled his strong dislike for criminals and violence. Feeling powerless, he became introverted and withdrawn.

Tom's life changed dramatically when he accidentally gained powers from cosmic radiation emitted by a piece of technology from the planet Radon. The TGZs had unknowingly brought this tech back from space. One day, Tom stepped on the fallen fragment while heading to college. At first, he thought nothing of it. However, during a dental x-ray a few days later, the cosmic radiation was activated, triggering a profound transformation within him.

Tom discovered he had extraordinary abilities. He could see through walls, move incredibly fast, had immense strength, and felt no pain. During a TGZ lecture, he experienced a strange mental disturbance, making him stay seated after the event ended. Ryan (Hyper) noticed this and approached Tom, recognizing his new powers. Ryan encouraged Tom to become a superhero and live a righteous life while keeping his identity secret if he wanted.

Inspired by Ryan's words, Tom took on the name "Starbooster". He saw the injustices in the world and decided to be a beacon of justice, peace, and hope. Initially, he lacked skills and training, and his early heroics were marked by excessive strength and carelessness, leading to accidents like breaking someone's arm while trying to save them. Determined to improve, Tom promised himself to train rigorously. For five months, he studied martial arts like karate, jiu-jitsu, and hand-to-hand combat, honing his abilities and becoming a better hero.

The emergence of Radonian DNA on Earth caught the attention of Allen, a Radonian geneticist. Intrigued, Allen came to Earth to find this "Radonian". Initially planning to capture Tom by force, Allen soon realized Tom's pure-hearted nature. Regretting the actions of his own empire, Allen rebelled against the Radonian Empire and became a Canadian citizen under the alias Alexander Lane. He mentored Tom, providing a costume that enhanced his powers and teaching him Radonian combat tactics, refining Tom's already impressive skills.

Tom soon faced Jack the Homeronitan, who wanted to capture Allen for the bounty placed on his head by the Radonian Empire. Although Tom was nearly defeated, Allen saved him using teleportation technology to send Jack to a random location in the universe.

The next year, Tom was invited to join the World Security League by the United Nations. He accepted, becoming one of the ten esteemed members and serving as the Brazilian representative. Now, with official recognition, Tom fights alongside the WSL, collaborating with the TGZ and other heroes to combat cosmic threats whenever necessary.

Since I was a kid, I always had the dream to be a hero. A shining star that reaches the bottom of everyone's hearts and saves them from the consuming darkness. I also always had a thought in mind: "If the said protectors run from the battle, who will be there to fight?" I was not that lucky when I learned my brother died. So, to that not happen, and fate does not decide to take loved ones from even more people, I'll put my cape, and fly to the danger. Everytime. I promise.

I just hope to be a great inspiration. I want to people know who to look up when times are bad. Time is in constant change. It's certain that the bad times will fade away, as the time passes....

Everytime people encounter with me, they seem to think I'm faking it. They think I'm not what I show to be. Did humanity really lost it's light so much? The hope, the determination, the inspiration? What make people think I'm not being genuine? Just because I do not kill, I'm not violent, or else? If they cannot trust their own heroes, who else they will trust? Will they beg to the ones who cares only about themselves rather than the people? I do not seek fame, or money. I just want to make people feel secure about themselves. • Tom is a great and obvious homage of Superman (DC Comics). All of the powers, abilities, most of the personality and costume are a homage for him.
  • Although there are things who are different from the kryptonian. If you know the character well, you probably already noticed.
  • Also, despite being primarily a homage for Superman, he is also shown to be similar to Superboy (DC Comics), Invincible (Image Comics) and Spider-Man (Marvel Comics).
• Despite resilience, Tom has a surprisingly low tolerance for extremely spicy food. While he can physically endure it, he still finds the experience overwhelmingly uncomfortable.
• Tom enjoys Brazilian samba and MPB (Música Popular Brasileira), but he also has a surprising love for classic rock and 80s pop. He often listens to music while patrolling, claiming it helps him stay focused.
