- May be dulled by pain if the user is injured
- Only works on living beings that have such vital signs to begin with
- Exact sensitivity and range of sensing can vary by individual
- Users with Supernatural or Absolute Speed may be too fast to sense and detect
- If the user uses magic to detect vital signs, Magic Negation disables this power
- If the user uses technology to detect and perceive vital signs, their power is disabled if the technology is lost, damaged, or subjected to Technology Stopping
- A being of Auxiliary Organs may throw off an attempt to detect how many living beings are in the area
- If the user uses this power to detect vital signs and a large number of living organisms are nearby, they may become overwhelmed by the presence of their vital signs
