"Wait, dude! Look, I like you, so you should know my wishes always got an ironic twist to them. It's like a monkey's paw kind of thing. You just gotta be really specific. Say your wish is: 'I wish for a back rub.' Who's gonna give it to you? A dirty man? A bear? And where does this 'masseuse' come from? Do I zap some guy away from his family dinner? Leave some kid traumatized? 'Mom, where did dad go?' 'Oh, I don't know son he just disappeared from the table... sorry.' You see, Jake, there are rules to this stuff, wishing an event to be changes elements before and after it. Memories will be destroyed, babies will not be born, potential worlds could be evaporated by your wish!"
― Prismo warning Jake about the consequences of his wish-granting ability (Adventure Time)
"I am the Eternal Dragon. State your wish and I shall grant it."
― Shenron (Dragon Ball)

The power to manifest wishes. Sub-power of Wish Manipulation. Lesser version of Absolute Wish. Variation of Materialization. Combination of Desire Manifestation and Spell Casting.

Also Called[]

  • Wishing
  • Wish Bestowal/Bestowment/Fulfillment/Granting
  • Wish Generation/Materialization/Realization

Capabilities[]

The user has the ability to make wishes, whether their own or those of other individuals, come true. With this ability, they can fulfill the wildest and most unlikely wishes and dreams, creating or destroying many things according to those wishes or dreams.

Applications[]

Levels[]

  • Wish Manifestation: User can grant the wishes of others and/or themselves, usually with limitations or at some cost.
  • Cosmic Wish: User can grant wishes on a cosmic scale, fulfilling their own wishes and/or the wishes of others while conforming to certain limitations and restrictions.
  • Absolute Wish: User can grant limitless wishes, materializing any desire instantly and ideally, for themselves and others. There is truly no limit to what they can achieve with their absolute and perfect wish-granting powers.

Variations[]

Associations[]

Limitations[]

  • Wishes may come with a price.
  • There may be cooldowns between each wish.
  • User must be issued a command or wish to activate their power.
  • The granters have to be persistent about their wishes.
  • Wishes may be restricted by rules. Most often "no wishing for more wishes" or Omnipotence.
  • User may not be able to grant their own wishes and, by extension, those of another wish-granting being.
  • Dependent on the granter, wishes may have loopholes and twists.
  • May only be able to grant a limited number of wishes.
  • Wishes may not come out the way the wisher wished for.
  • Wishes may be literal. Example: if someone wished for a monster truck, the truck would act as a monster.
  • Wishes that involve physical transformations, such as multiple organs, may be painful for target.
  • Weak against Wish Negation.
  • May be incapable of creating life or creating objects limited to shaping existing ones, or transporting existing ones to the location of the user or wisher.
  • The extent of the wishes may extend only to one person, often either the person wishing, or another person if the wish is meant to affect someone else.
  • May be limited to how big or small the wish can be granted, depending on the user's own limitations.
  • May be unable to refuse to grant wishes.
  • May require a magical source to power the wishes.
